Malaysia Travel Aug 2025(Kuala Lumpur) Diary
Day 1
My daughter and I are planning our next vacation and are considering destinations that are both affordable and within our time constraints. After lots of thinking and considerations we decided to go to Malaysia Truly Asia. We planned to visit from 15 August 2025 to 24 August 2025.
In this blog i will explain our experience of visiting Malaysia
Upon arriving in Malaysia on August 16, 2025, at approximately 9:30 AM local time, we proceeded towards the immigration counter. The journey commenced, and it took approximately 45 minutes to reach the immigration counter. Here, our test commenced, as the immigration line stretched for over 400 individuals. Our turn arrived after a two-hour and 30-minute wait. The immigration process was conducted smoothly, with the officer simply inquiring about the duration of our visit, which I informed him was for nine days.
Mobile data and Sim
The most crucial aspect is to procure a mobile SIM card at KL International Airport. There are numerous mobile SIM providers with outlets available. After thorough research, I discovered that Hotlink is the most reliable option. Consequently, we purchased it from the official outlet. Unfortunately, I fell victim to a fraudulent scam. They charged me 32 ringit for a tourist package that included 60 GB of data and 5 ringit of balance. Regrettably, I only received 60 GB of data, and the remaining 5 ringit were not included in the package.
How to reach Kuala Lumpur from KLIA?
At this juncture, it is time for us to proceed to Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC). I have downloaded the Grab application and commenced the search for a suitable vehicle for our journey. I must commend Grab as providing the most effective and economical transportation services in Malaysia. The driver arrived at the designated pick-up point and proceeded to collect us. Our travel commenced, covering a distance of approximately 45 kilometres from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to KLCC. The journey was uneventful, and both my daughter and I disembarked at KLCC. Subsequently, we proceeded to a shopping mall for lunch, where we indulged in Soy milk and Pan Cakes for MYR 20.00. Afterward, we visited a 7-Eleven convenience store to procure essential items for our accommodation. From Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC), we proceeded to our accommodation, the NEU Suite located in Jalan Ampang, via a grab service. We conveniently checked in and subsequently rested in our room. The four days accommodation costed us 370 MYR which is really good price, the room was small and had internet issues, but they shifted us to another room after lots of efforts we made.
In the evening, we visited 7-Eleven to purchase groceries and household items. Subsequently, we dined at a restaurant on the ground floor, spending MYR 30 for two people. Afterward, we retired to our room and retired for the night.
Day 2
Bukit Bintang

Jalan Ampang to Bukit Bintang
Now, let us proceed directly and begin detailing our initial day out at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) attractions. Our journey commenced at approximately 11:00 AM. We commenced our transportation from Neu Suites to Bukit Bintang via Grab, incurring a cost of MYR 35 to reach the Pavilion Mall Bukit Bintang from our hotel. This establishment is a must-visit destination, offering an abundance of shopping opportunities.
After a considerable walk, we resolved to dine at a food stall and subsequently hunt for dinner. We ventured to Jalan Alor, a renowned food street that boasts an abundance of roadside eateries. While the majority of these establishments offer Chinese cuisine, we sought an Indo-Pakistani dining experience. Fortunately, we stumbled upon an adjacent hotel where we indulged in Masala Dosa and Malaysian Mamak Fried Chicken. After our culinary adventure, we returned to the hotel and, once again, ordered a Grab taxi, arriving at our destination around 9 PM.
