Genting Highlands Travel Experience

Kuala Lumpur to Genting Highlands

We made the decision to relocate from Kuala Lumpur to the Genting Highlands. Consequently, we proceeded to Kuala Lumpur Sentral station to board a bus. Subsequently, we opted for a Grab taxi and embarked on our journey from Neu Suites Apartment to explore the Genting Highlands. The approximate travel time from Jalan Ampang to KL Central (also known as KL Sentral) was 45 minutes, resulting in a cost of MYR 34.50.

KL Sentral to Genting Journey

We began our journey to Genting, a beautiful green and serene highway. The 1.5-hour drive covered a distance of 49 to 50 kilometres. We enjoyed the scenery. After dropping off, we started walking to the cable car. The hustle and bustle of people waiting in the cable car lane confused us, but we decided to join the crowd. There are self-buying cable car tickets for MYR 18 return(each) and MYR 11 single-way each. Since we planned to return the same day, we bought return tickets. The 1-hour cable car ride was crowded, but it was worth it. We made unforgettable memories during our cable car travel, with the weather being awesome, with rain and dense fog! To reach Genting it took 50 minutes.

Riding the Genting Highlands Cable Car (Awana SkyWay)

The most exhilarating experience during our travels was the exhilarating ride on the Awana Skyway in the Genting Highlands. Genting offers a plethora of attractions, including renowned theme parks such as Genting SkyWorlds and Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park, the Chin Swee Caves Temple, the Genting Highlands Premium Outlets for shopping, and the Genting Skyway for scenic cable car rides, SkyAvenue: shopping and retail outlets.

Tips for Genting Highlands

Genting Highlands is a worthwhile destination during a Malaysian travel itinerary, offering a plethora of engaging activities. While it is possible to visit and return to Kuala Lumpur the same day, it is highly recommended to extend your stay to at least one to two days to fully experience the attractions.
